Tour Highlights: Travel a portion of the Camino Real, the oldest road in Texas and designated
as a National Historical Trail. We begin on the Camino Arribe section of the route to see the area
where the first Spanish Settlement began along the San Marcos River. Arrive in New Braunfels for a
visit to Heritage Village home of the Museum of Handmade Furniture. Here you will learn the rich history
of this German settlement. A quick jaunt over to Gruene (pronounced green) a town that
has quietly resisted change since 1872. We tour famous Gruene Dance Hall where musicians
from all over the country come to perform. Plenty of time on your own to browse antique and artisan
shops. Or head on over to the General Store for an ice cream cone or for some mouth watering fudge.
We return to San Marcos down the Camino Real de Los Tejas as your guide points out
interesting historic buildings and places.
